My name is Nora, and I moved in summer 2022 to the island of Kefalonia, Greece with my husband and two kids. 

 

After 8 years of working for a global philanthropic organisation, and now having kids at an age where they just enter the school system, I was ready for something new in my life. That's how we as a couple decided to move to the island where my husband grew up and where we have luckily already family and friends. 

 

Having for a long time been interested in the variety of cultures, languages and social settings, I studied Social Anthropology and have lived in over 5 cities & countries over the last 20 years, including Mexico City, NYC, Kampala, Damascus and Zürich, my hometown. Now it's the first time that we move as a family together to a place we know mostly from our summer holidays, with no clear timeline as to when or whether we return to Zürich, or to somewhere else.

 

With this blog I aim to share with you my observations, reflections and daily craziness as a mother of 2 little ones on this island, with its beautiful nature and rich culture, about what such a radical change in life offers.
